History

Schwob Building Company is proud to celebrate over 30 years of business. These years of service have included outstanding clients, quality facilities and long-term relationships that continue to this very day. The honesty and integrity that formed this organization remains live and well today.

Schwob was originally chartered as a Texas Corporation in 1977 by John Schwob. John had a background in construction and steel erection as well as a successful history with Butler Manufacturing. Utilizing this relationship, Schwob made an agreement to represent Butler in the Dallas area. A one-room office was set up and the Schwob Butler Buildership was established.

After nearly 15 years of successful and consistent growth, Schwob sought additional growth thru acquisition. In 1991, Schwob formed a venture with a Scott Knepper, a local PEMB erector, creating today’s nationally renowned metal building division. Just three years later, in 1993, Scott Schwob joined the company after his tenure of managing an environmental engineering office in California. Scott expanded Schwob’s market capability by establishing new market niches and larger project capacity.

In 2001, Scott Schwob assumed the role of president and primary ownership of business. During this time many changes were made to the business including the addition of new talent and technology. Four years later, in 2005, this ownership was extended to the Vice President, Andy Erickson, who has continued to expand the business at every level.

Schwob’s history ventures forward everyday. We continue to find wonderful clients and establish long-term relationships. We want to thank all of you for making our history great – we could not have done it without you. Thanks for being outstanding clients, people and friends.
